Eduardo García-Junceda has been involved in the recent Congress Biotec 2014 as a member of the Scientific Committee and also chaired the session Biocatalysis I.

Prof. Daniela Gamenara, sabbatical in our group.

Dr. Daniela Gamenara, Professor at the University of the Republic (Uruguay), will be in our group until the end of July. The purpose of her stay in our laboratory has been learning first hand the methods for working with DHAP dependent aldolases in synthesis.

Visit of Prof. Goycoolea to the Biological Glycochemistry Group

Francisco M. Goycoolea, Professor at the Institute of Plant Biotechnology and Biology of the University of Münster and Head of the Nanobiotechnology Group, visited our group. Research at Goycoolea Group is focused in the study of advanced nanostructured biomaterials based polysaccharides and proteins, both in their fundamental aspects and their application in the life sciences. Designed on a rational basis, biopolymer-based nanostructured materials are intended as innovative platforms for biotechnological, biomedical, pharmaceutical and food applications.

The program of the Community of Madrid 4ºESO+Empresa is an initiative, now in its sixth edition, which aims to bring the school to work environment, with the goal that young people will be better prepared for their future careers and raise possible scientific vocations

Celebrated with great success the 3rd Multistep Enzyme Catalyzed Processes Congress (MECP14)

From 7 to 10 April was held in Madrid the 3rd Multistep Enzyme Catalyzed Processes Congress (MECP14). This congress was hosted by the Spanish National Research Council and organized under the auspices of the European Section on Applied Biocatalysis and the Spanish Society of Biotechnology. The conference brought together 146 researchers from 24 countries not only in Europe but also in Mexico, Brazil and USA. Particularly satisfactory has been the high participation of young researchers.
